Riedel's varietal specific wine glass concept has changed the world of wine drinking around the globe, by highlighting the effect that size and shape have on the aroma and flavor perception of the wine. This special new Black Tie series incorporates the Sommeliers line's classic shapes into gorgeous mouth-blown stemware, all accented in black. This Riedel Black Tie Rheingau glass features the same classic shape of its Sommelier series counterpart, perfectly capturing the nuances of the fine wine it was designed for. A stylish variation of Riedel's 1958 World Exhibition Grand Prix award-winning design, Black Tie offers the original varietal-specific shapes precisely handcrafted of brilliant 24-percent lead crystal and adds a dressy finish: a tall black stem on the red wine glasses and a coordinating black base on their white wine mates.

This Rheingau glass is recommended for light white wines that combine high acidity with delicate fruit including Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Gruner Veltliner, and Orvieto Classico. With a 7-3/8-ounce capacity, the bowl's tulip shape directs the wine to the tongue to emphasize the signature peach and apricot flavors, pleasantly integrate the wine's acidity, and provide a long, balanced finish.
